Before there is a song, there is a thought, a feeling, or a moment.
Music has always been part of Ren’s life. There was no single beginning and no carefully planned path toward it. Over time, it simply became a place where things that were difficult to say could exist.
“Music was always around me growing up. I don’t think there was one specific moment. Over time it became a place where I could express things that were difficult to say out loud.”
For Ren, creating a song is not simply about finding the right words. Sometimes the greater challenge is deciding how much truth to put into them.
When asked which song had been the most difficult to write, one immediately stood out.
“Probably Pure. It wasn’t difficult because of the lyrics, but because I wanted it to be completely honest. Sometimes telling the truth is harder than finding the words.”
His own songs carry pieces of different moments in his life. But the music he connects with — whether his own or someone else’s — shares one quality: it makes you feel something.
“I love songs that make you feel something without needing many words.”
